The effects of task-based instruction on reading comprehension of non-English major students at a university in the Mekong Delta

Reading is a core of English language learning skills. However, many as foreign (EFL) learners face challenges in this skill due to lack exposure authentic texts. Concerning issue, it believed that task-based teaching (TBLT) an ideal method for successful reading learning. Therefore, the goal study determine how instruction (TBI) influences students’ comprehension and their attitudes regarding approach. The research was carried out at university Mekong Delta, where compulsory subject all majors. two groups – control group experimental were made up 58 non-English major students. Data about students' performance towards intervention collected using instruments: tests questionnaires. findings revealed TBLT had considerable impact on improving comprehension. Moreover, students showed positive views use classrooms. suggested should be used main approach
